September 20, 2017 7:00pm – 8:30pm
In the spirit of teach-ins developed to advance social movements and societal transformation, we invite you to join this conversation with leading academic and community experts at the Schomburg to understand today’s policy issues and local impact. Dr. Muhammad will facilitate an interactive discussion on education policy with Dr. Noliwe Rooks, author of the forthcoming book Cutting School: Privatization, Segregation, and the End of Public Education.
For free events, we generally overbook to ensure a full house. All registered seats are released 15 to 30 minutes before start time, so we recommend that you arrive early. Guests, please note that holding seats in the Langston Hughes Auditorium is strictly prohibited and there is no food or drinks allowed anywhere in the Schomburg Center.
